DMCA Policy

Last updated: January 2026

Eternal Record respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

1. Blockchain Immutability Notice

⚠️ Important Limitation:

Due to the permanent and immutable nature of the Bitcoin blockchain, Eternal Record cannot delete, remove, or modify content that has been inscribed on-chain. Blockchain data exists independently of our service and remains publicly accessible through any Bitcoin node or explorer.

However, we can and will take action within the scope of our proprietary interface.

2. Our Remediation Process

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, Eternal Record will:

  • De-list the Inscription ID from our website interface within 48 hours of receiving a complete and valid notice.
  • Remove links and references to the allegedly infringing content from our proof pages, search results, and any proprietary displays.
  • Add the Inscription ID to our internal blocklist, preventing future display on EternalRecord.io.

Please note: This action only affects the display of content on EternalRecord.io. The underlying blockchain data remains publicly accessible through third-party Bitcoin explorers, nodes, and gateways over which we have no control.

3. Filing a DMCA Notice

To report allegedly infringing content, your notice must include the following information as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material, including:
    • The Inscription ID (e.g., a long hexadecimal string)
    • The URL to the proof page on EternalRecord.io (if applicable)
  4. Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email).
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
