Eternal Record ("Eternal Record," "we," "us," or "our") operates EternalRecord.io, a service that allows users to permanently inscribe digital content onto the Bitcoin blockchain using Ordinals inscriptions.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our website and services.

1. Information We Collect

a. User-Submitted Content

When you use our service, you may submit text, images, or other content for inscription. This content may include personal information about you or third parties.

⚠️ Important:

Content inscribed to the Bitcoin blockchain is public, permanent, and irreversible. Once inscribed, it cannot be edited, deleted, or made private.

b. Email Address

We collect your email address to:

  • send transaction receipts,
  • provide inscription status updates, and
  • send optional product updates or marketing communications.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

c. Technical Information

We automatically collect limited technical data, including:

  • IP address
  • browser type
  • device information
  • basic usage logs

d. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site usage. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect aggregated usage data.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • process and complete inscriptions,
  • communicate transaction status,
  • improve website functionality,
  • comply with legal obligations.

3. Blockchain Permanence Disclosure

Content submitted for inscription is written to a public blockchain ledger. Blockchain data is immutable by design. Eternal Record cannot modify, remove, or erase inscribed content.

Privacy rights such as deletion or erasure do not apply to data permanently recorded on a public blockchain.

4. Data Storage & Retention

NO POST-INSCRIPTION FILE RETENTION

We explicitly do not retain file data (images, text content, or other user-submitted files) on our servers after the inscription transaction has been broadcast to the Bitcoin network. All content processing occurs transiently in memory during your active session only.

What we DO store:

  • Email addresses (for transaction receipts and optional communications)
  • Order metadata (order ID, transaction status, inscription ID references)
  • Technical logs (anonymized access logs for security and debugging)

What we DO NOT store:

  • The actual file bytes or content you submit for inscription
  • Copies or backups of inscribed media
  • Long-term caches of user-generated content

Once inscribed, your content exists solely on the Bitcoin blockchain and is retrievable through public blockchain explorers and gateways—not from our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers, including:

  • (coming soon) for payment processing ((coming soon) independently handles payment information and may perform KYC/AML checks)
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Analytics providers

6. Security

We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
